Google Images

This is a robotic device contructed of Legos. It is motorized device used to move around (like a RC car but Legoized). You can make it go forward, backwards, side ways, and spin.

This is a logo for a fictional mining company in a fictional movie series. Colors probably don't mean anything signifficant other than the W is outlined in yellow and the Y is outlined in silver. I liket this logo because I am a very big fan of the Aliens series and this company plays an important role in the films.

This is my logo. I chose to design like this because i like red and black and i think together they look good. It's a smiley face because happiness is good and the tie is so the smiley face can be taken seriously.

This is the window cling i would create, I wanted it to look like a crack because people would freak out because it looks broken when it really isnt.

Games

Koalabr8 is a really fun internet game. The object of the game is to move all the Koala bears to the exit. The trick is, all the Koala bears move in the same direction at the same time. Making it MORE difficult, saw blades, locks, and TNT are laid throughout the level and if a Koala bear touches it they die and the player restarts the level. The story behind the game is in 1969, a band of military koala's were convicted for a crime they didn't commit. During their time in the pent, they decided to form their own group called the K-Team and they try to bust out of prision. Eventually, they get freed and take up jobs hired by citizens of Austrialia. If you need them, if you want them, and if you can find them, you can hire the K-Team.

For a console game, Assassin's Creed 2 is the best. The player takes the role of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, who's father and brothers were murdered. To take his revenge, Ezio become an assassin to punish those who were responsible. Sprites include Ezio and Desmond Miles (Ezio's decendent) and objects include citizens of italy, guards, and your assassination targets. The object of the game is to kill everyone responsible for the murder of your family and to stop the Knights Templar, long enemies of the Assassin Order.

Gaming

The Name of the Game is AVP (Aliens vs. Predator). The story takes place in the world of Alien and Predators and the battles they have with humanity. The Aliens want to use the humans as host for their offspring so they can reproduce and colonize. Predators want to hunt humans and Aliens for personal glory, and the humans (dubbed Marines) are stuck to battle the two horrible monsters to survive.

Three sprites would be used in the game. Players can control a Marine, an Alien, or a Predator.

Tons of objects would be used in the game. Bullets, plasma cannon thingys, boxes, crates, trees to jump from, blades, and other various weapon/ obstacles to make the game more challenging.

Age would be 18 and up because it would be way to violently entertaining for the eyes of children.

It would be for the Xbox 360 because the graphics would be too complicated for the Wii and I really hate playstation so they have to suffer without it.

I would design the game to follow as close to the movies Alien, Aliens, Aliens 3, Alien Ressurection, Predator, and Predator 2 as possible. The movies were highly entertaining so a video game based on them should be of equal awesomeness. Several games have already been created based on the Alien/Predator franchise but they all differ based on gameplay and time they were created. Obviously a game from the 80's isn't going to be as advance as todays games. The gameplay will be much improved in this making it horrifyingly great.

Cyber Bullying

Cyber Bullying is when you hurt or offend people over the internet.

MySpace Mom Linked to Missouri Teen's Suicide Being Cyber-Bullied Herself

After Lori Drew’s teenager daughter got into a fight with her friend Megan Meier that permanently ended their friendship, the Lori Drew created a MySpace account and constantly tortured the poor girl by creating a blog titled “Megan had it coming” and continuously taunted the Megan which resulted in the her committing suicide.

I don’t think Megan had it coming like Lori Drew thought. Friends get in fights all the time and end their friendship, she really took it to the extreme when she made Megan kill herself.

After Megan was dumped by “Josh” (who was a ficticious boyfriend created by one of Lori Drew’s employees in order to get back at Megan), she decided to hang herself. There was not enough evidence to charge Lori Drew with any kind of crime. Her attorney claims she had nothing to do with the blog, however Lori Drew admitted she created the blog.

Besides not having a psycho mother, don’t get so wrapped up in these blogs. It’d probably be better not to join any. Don’t date over the internet with a person you’ve never met.

I’ve had several friends who were cyber bullied. My dad isn’t very nice to people over the internet. People in Glenvar are cyber bullied all the time and today’s society is increasing with bullies and victims over the internet.

Staying Civil Online

5 rules for internet etiquette

  • Do not yell at others online
  • Do not send spam to people
  • Act like you are talking to someone in real life
  • Anyone can read your post, be careful what you put on
  • Do not aggrevate others.

A netiquette is crucial for keeping the Internet a civil place because teh internet is not policed or run by a single person or group. Be sure to behave on the internet, don't mess around.

  • Behave as though you are communicating in person. When communicating with someone online, act as if you are talking to taht person face to face.

  • Remember that your words are open to interpretation. If you posts jokes, sarcasm, or other attempts at humor, do not be surprised if someone is offended. Word your postings clearly and carefully.

  • Do not "shout" online. Typing in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is like shouting and is considered rude.

  • Do not "flame" other users. In "Net-speak," a flame is a posting that contains insults or other derogatory content. Flamers can be shut out of listservs and chat rooms, and other users can block a flamer's messages.

  • Do not send spam. Spam is the online equivalent of junk mail- uninvited messages, usually of a commercial nature. Most ISPs have strict spam policies. If you are caught distributing uninvited messagges to multiple recipients, your ISP may cancel your account. You'll learn more about spam in Unit 14, "Living with Computers."

  • Do not distribute copyrighted material. Usenet newsgroups and many private Web pages are filled with copyrighted and trademarked text and graphics, posted without the owner's permission. do not think that text or images are "in the publice domain" because you gound them on the Internet. Copyrights still apply

  • Do not be a coward. As a general rule, you should never conceal your identity on the Internet. If you choose to use a screen name, do not hide behind it to misbehave
Do you think that netiquette is important? Why or why not?
I think all the netiquettes are important except for the last one. I don't think you should EVER conceal you idenity to the internet. If someone is misbehaving, you can still find out who it is.

Acceptable Use Policy

Explain what an AUP is.

Acceptable Use Policy is basically a set of rules laid down that restricts what your not suppose to do at work, school, or some other place of that sort.

Glenvar's AUP would be our Code of Conduct.

  • No Volgar Language: Volgar language is inappropriate and is a bad habit to get into for later in life. You don't want to say the wrong thing and offend the wrong people.

  • a prohibition against use by division employees and students of the division’s computer equipment and communications services for sending, receiving, viewing or downloading illegal material via the Internet: This is so Glenvar doesn't get in trouble for any illegal contenet downloaded by student/teacher.

  • provisions establishing that the online activities of users will be monitored: Glenvar can moniter any computer to insure no body is doing something they aren't suppose to.

  • provisions prohibiting the unauthorized disclosure, use, and dissemination of personal information regarding users: No body is to learn any personal information about anyone throught the computers.

  • provisions, including the selection and operation of a technology protection measure for the division’s computers having Internet access to filter or block Internet access through such computers, that seek to prevent access to
child pornography as set out in Va. Code § 18.2-374.1:1 or as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2256;obscenity as defined by Va. Code § 18.2-372 or 18 U.S.C. § 1460; and material that the school division deems to be harmful tojuveniles as defined in Va. Code § 18.2-390, material that is harmful to minors as defined in 47 U.S.C. § 254(h)(7)(G), and material that is otherwise inappropriate for minors: This allows Glenvar to block websites that could be harmful to students.

A letter could be sent out with a list of rules in the policy at work.

AUP's are neccesary because they are rules and living in a world without rules in caotic.

If you were the boss of a large company where each employee had their own computer and access to internet, what rules and regulations would you have?

Rules for Tyler Hutchinson's BIG BUSINESS!!!!

  • Don't look up anything inappropriate
  • Don't forward e-mails to me
  • No facebook
  • Spend your internet time wisely
  • No facebook
  • Check only your work email
  • No facebook
  • No AIM
  • No facebook
  • No Myspace
  • No facebook
